How fun is this!
Alright everyone, today is not just a film, but a film series. That’s correct! Today we are discussing Iron Man, Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3. We won’t be discussing them in separate sections, but I will talk about what I have noticed over the span of the three films collectively. So, recently my partner and I have taken on the task of watching all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films because I haven’t seen many of them. We will be watching these in chronological order; in order of when they happened in the universe, not in order of which they were released. We just finished the eighth film so remember my judgment is passed only after watching maybe 12 films. However, this means we have watched all of the Iron Man films. For some reason, Iron Man has been on my mind for about a week.
Fun fact, when I was a kid, Iron Man was my favorite even though I had not seen the films. However after watching the Iron Man films and other films within the MCU, I have now placed Iron Man within my top favorite characters.
I truly think that the character of Iron Man is so funny. I think he was written well (duh he was, it’s Marvel) and is so seriously unserious. I just love the personality of the character and I also like his character development by the end of the third film. I have only watched one other film with Robert Downey Jr. in it, so I am not particularly used to seeing his acting. I am fully aware I have been living under a rock.
I absolutely love, love, love Pepper Potts. I can’t really explain why. I just think she carried the film on her back. Tony Stark would be nowhere without Miss Potts and I fully believe that. For some reason, I convinced myself that they recast her in the third film so I was dreading watching it but I was wrong. I’m glad I made that up because I fear I wouldn’t have liked it as much. Pepper Potts is played by Gwyneth Paltrow and she is yet another actress whose work I haven’t seen a lot of. I’m almost starting to like not seeing any of the main stars’ films.
Out of all three films, I think I liked the first one the most. I like the creation of it more than the battles. I don’t hate the battles but I think learning the creation of the character is more interesting. I think a lot of other people would agree especially when talking about the MCU.
I will say, I know it’s a big characteristic of the Marvel films, but I am not loving the post credit scenes at the end of the films. Yes, they are interesting. Yes, I will watch them every time. My issue is by the time I get to the next film or the one after that, I don’t remember what scene was at the end of what film. So, having these scenes is not helping me follow the timeline any better since I can’t match the scene with the film I saw it at the end of. This is definitely a me problem but it had to be said.
I think that is all I have to say for now. I think I'm definitely going to have to come back and edit this post as I progress further in the MCU. I like them so I don't have anything bad to say which makes this entry shorter than others, but I don't love them so I'm not overwhelmed with thoughts. Does that make sense?

Of course, don't forget you can watch Marvel movies on Disney Plus!
