Hey Hey Hey!

This week I watched a film called Don’t Move. I had heard of this film through TikTok when I saw some clips of the film. Fortunately, the clips didn’t spoil anything. All I knew was that it is a mystery/thriller movie starring Finn Wittrock and Kelsey Asbille. I have previously watched American Horror Story where Wittrock is featured, so I was already fond of him. I have seen a couple scenes and commercials for the show Yellowstone, which features Kelsey Asbille. I can’t say I am a fan of hers, but I do like her acting.

To be honest, when I  searched the film on Google and read the overview; I realized it is exactly as it reads. I won’t say it was a bad movie, but I will say it was a little bit predictable with an almost common storyline. So I wouldn’t recommend the film based on that. In my humblest opinion, I would compare Netflix original horror films to holiday Hallmark films. Predictable and people love them but it’s not something I would make a point to watch again.

With that being said, I believe that is the only “bad” thing I have to say about it. I like Finn Wittrock’s character, especially how it was presented. I fear I catch myself saying this a lot but he is just good at playing crazy characters. Characters that are out of their mind but who believe they are the “normal” ones. I try not to be biased when trying to formulate a yes or no opinion on films, but if Wittrock wasn’t in the film, I don’t think that I would have liked it as much.

I think that the way the movie was filmed was great. I think it created an eerie vibe for the film which really added to it. The cinematography is very important because it was one of the main things that made this film interesting. Of course it’s entertaining but just because something is entertaining doesn't mean it's interesting. There are many scenes that are filmed with the different zooming techniques or from impossible point of views. It’s these things that kept my attention throughout the film.

Overall, I would say it was decent. Not super good but not bad. I can't say that I would recommend it, but I wouldn't actively deter anyone from watching it.
